THE BRIDE OF THE KING
Foundation Scripture:
Isaiah 61:10
I delight greatly in the Lord, my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of
righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
As the inward man is clothed in righteousness, and as God is continuing to develop us and take us from faith to faith, and from Glory to Glory, let’s take
a moment to revisit how the external can display Godly arraignments by adorning ourselves with garments of beauty and splendor as ministry is
presented before the Lord.
Dance ministry garments are a symbol of how Christ beholds us in our spiritual garments. He embellishes us with riches of the Spirit like a king to his
queen. He bestows her with precious jewels and crowns her with all that is splendid.
The garments that we minister in should exemplify beauty and radiance. God’s presence should begin to manifest with just seeing the garments.
(Breathtaking)
Psalms 45:13-14a
All glorious is the princess within her chambers. Her gown is interwoven with gold; with embroidered garments she is led to the king.
When dressing for worship, always understand that it is to bring pleasure to the Lord. The spirit of God then will lead you into His presence.
When we minister, we minister to an audience of one! Not only do we want to dance in excellence unto God, we also want to be dressed in excellence.
Imagine getting dressed for your wedding, you want to be beautiful/handsome for your wife/husband. You are presenting yourself to God; your husband.
Isaiah 52:1
Awake, awake, O’Zion clothe yourself with strength, put on your garments of splendor.
Let your dance apparel represent holiness and modesty. It should reflect beauty, splendor, and the glory of God. Don’t call attention to your body. Be
modest, cover yourself.
We can have beauty and radiance; however, if you do not have the appropriate undergarments, the radiance goes away. You can be anointed, have the
most anointed dance and music, but if you do not have the appropriate undergarments, you will lose a lot of the audience. Their attention has gone to
your silhouette and your bouncing body parts.
It is very important to have a comfortable, firmly fitted bra and a leotard. The leotard should only be used as an undergarment. Exodus 28:42 And, you
shall make for them linen trousers to cover their nakedness; they shall reach from the waist to the thighs. It is very important to have foundation
pants/culottes. They are to be worn under your skirts and palazzo pants. All the layering may be uncomfortable, but it’s not worth losing the audience
because they are looking at your silhouette. This also goes for men. Men you should also have firmly fitting undergarments.
The Holiness of our Garments:
Ezekiel 44:19
And when they go forth into the outer court, even into the outer court of the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and
lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.
Remember that your worship garments are tools of ministry. They belong to the Lord. Treat them with the respect that the priestly custom deserves
and the attitude will be reflected in the anointing that rests upon your garments.
It is so important to take care of your garments. If not for any other reason, so they will last. These are garments that we are presenting before God.
When not in use, take care of them and store them properly…the beautiful and radiant garments we discussed earlier.
Unless specified for a park event or something, you should never wear your garments outside ministering. “But, I’m running late” no excuse! “You shall
not sanctify the people with your garments.” No one should see you in your garments outside of ministering.
When you put on your garments, this is a special time. You become the “ANOINTED DANCE MINISTER.” Putting on dance costume signifies that your
time and energy are set apart (sanctified) in service to God. That liberates you to dance as David danced with full power and passion.
Think of Superman. He doesn’t walk around in his superman outfit all the time; only when he is called to help someone. Only when you are called to
help usher in God’s presence, save, deliver, and heal lives through the dance do we put on our garments
